Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Microsoft AKS is a managed Kubernetes service run in the Azure public cloud. AKS can be used to deploy and manage container-based applications in the cloud. The key benefits of using Kubernetes are, reduced overhead for administrators, automatic scaling and rolling updates.
Automatic scaling based on consumer demands can greatly reduce hosting costs while maintaining maximum availability. Only actual consumed resources are paid for, this means paying for overcapacity is something of the past. Furthermore, if complex computations are required, AKS can include nodes with GPU’s in the cluster.
Users can access AKS via the AKS management portal, a command-line interface or using templates through tools such as Azure Resource Manager. Once set up, this makes managing your cluster easy, reducing the need for system administrators.
